Quotient Bioresearch and KWS BioTest become partners

PRESS RELEASE: Quotient Bioresearch and KWS BioTest partner to deliver end-to-end anti-infectives screening.

Cambridge, UK & Bristol, UK, 9 May 2011 – Two leading contract research organisations,Quotient Bioresearch Ltd. and KWS BioTest Ltd.,
have today announced a new strategic partnership to provide a novel co-ordinated approach to support the development of new antimicrobial agents.

The partnership – unveiled at the 21st European Congress of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases 2011 (ECCMID 2011) in Milan, Italy – will enable the two companies to provide high quality screening of anti-infectives all the way from in vitro activity assays , efficacy and resistance profiling through validated models of human disease to clinical investigations, with full scientific support.

Dr. Ian Morrissey, Director of Anti-Infectives at Quotient, explained: “With KWS we can now provide a unique and fully-integrated ‘Plate to Patient’ offering for our anti-infective clients, including anti-virals and models of human disease.

The new partnership has been created following a longstanding relationship between Quotient and KWS and represents significant expansion in the industry for both companies. Sharing a number of joint customers, the synergy created through this collaboration will enable both companies to carry out larger integrated studies for their clients.
